Here’s what we’ve been up to this week:

  • James has been following up some actions around renewing our Hotjar subscription: writing guidance, checking with SMEs whether we can remove properties / archive old surveys etc.
  • Mary had a meeting with our Head of Communications about updating our ‘About us’ section. She also updated the jobs pages on our intranet and website and chose our autumn home page image.
  • Owain wrote guidance for our team wiki about image sizes and how meta data works.
  • Shaun has been working on guidance for water companies around bathing water permit conditions, pollution incidents and the classification and report of storm overflow.
  • Jane got sign-off on some updated ‘waste’ content and sent it for translation. She’s also continued working on guidance for creating and writing links, including a useful session with Mary to work through it together. Mary brought some valuable insights from her recent training sessions with colleagues in the Comms team.
  • Jane and Kim have been working on a proof of concept for publishing Freedom of Information requests on our website using either a searchable table or a list. After a useful session with Sam and Laura to discuss the options, they’re now focusing on the list approach.
  • Phil has been working on a ‘Before you start’ page about applying for a licence for translocation of species. Conservation translocation is planning to move plants or animals to support nature conservation in Wales.
  • Toyah is continuing work on the marine licensing Beta, which is set to go live 22 September 2026. She’s been doing tidying up and documentation of the work so far.
