Here’s what we’ve been up to this week:

  • The publishing team have been an officer short, so have been kept very busy! Kim has written guidance on how to use Hornbill for the team wiki, and completed a big intranet job updating the Contract Management Support Service, procurement, and grants pages. Hannah has published evidence reports on bats and solar panels, sand wave migration rates, and metal mine pollution. She has also reviewed a draft document of the next River Basin Management Plan, with feedback for the SMEs on how to bring the accessibility up to standard.

  • Shaun worked on the low risk water impoundments guidance which should be published early next week. He also met with the Regulatory Approaches team to thrash out how best to publish five pieces of detailed guidance for water companies and talked to the Development Planning Advisory Service about a detailed flow chart of steps planning authorities should take when considering proposals.

  • Phil published the new species licence application forms before going on leave (no connection).

  • Laura continued work on the Flood Risk Activity Permit content which should be published soon. She also actioned feedback on some utilities and infrastructure pages, and is now waiting for the changes to be reviewed before sending to translation.

  • Alex attended the first AI collaboration meeting, and is working on finalising the EQIA for the intranet project – the last step in the business justification case.

  • As all NRW jobs are now advertised on the Kallidus platform, the recruitment team no longer have to rely on the intranet page. Mary republished the jobs page to reflect this, and editing rights have been updated to bring sole publishing access back to the Digital team.

  • James pulled together some analytics for job placement adverts.

  • Kim, Jane and Heledd met to run through some proposed concepts for freedom of information requests.

  • Heledd had a meeting about new framework suppliers and how we work with them. She also continued working with other DDAT managers on ways of working, and prepared for next week’s workshop on Digital team projects and priorities.
