Weeknotes 21/08/2026
Our week notes are a little shorter due to members of our team being on holidays, attending funerals and taking well-deserved annual leave.
Here’s what our reduced team accomplished this week…

- Lucinda travelled down to Cardiff to join a workshop as part of the Flood team meeting. She shared user profiles, created by Gov.UK and led an exercise to show the user journey of signing up flood warnings and the flow from a user research perspective. Some of the attendees were given instructions to use only their keyboard to complete the task, and others with their browser at 300% zoom to help simulate some of the access challenges that different users can face when trying to complete online services.
- James has been compiling all the user research he can find about NRW web projects. He also set-up a survey on our dry weather blog to help understand what the page helps users to do
- Mary has continued running refresher training sessions for comms officers using Umbraco to produce content
- Our publishing team has continued accessibility checking content and publishing new consultations and guidance across our website, including updating our writing accessible documents guidance in line with current legislation
- Sophie met with a subject matter expert within the organisation to redesign our business finance intranet pages ahead of September. The new materials are currently with translation before we set them live next week
- Phil has been working with teams to troubleshoot online forms for our customers
