Weeknotes 31/07/2026
- Our style guide has been refreshed by Jane, including a change to how we write numbers (numerals not words), in line with GOV.UK
- Sophie’s working on updates to the guidance on accessible documents, simplifying language so it’s clearer for users – all with reference to WCAG 2.2
- Sam’s created new team guidance on running and participating in design crits (inspired by a recent Digital Public Services Wales crit). She’s also created some quick guides on when to use features like related links, featured search, accordions and change notes
- As the team regularly receive evidence reports for publishing on our website, Hannah documented the process for carrying out accessibility checks
- Phil, Lucinda, Jane and Sam are making improvements to our new form builder theme so that it’s more accessible and remains in line with our brand
- Following launch of new forest management plan forms and content, Jane has been finalising the design history and list of future UCD recommendations
- Toyah’s been refining marine content to help users understand how to apply for a marine licence. She ran a great design crit to help with a particularly tricky page
- Laura and Sam had another design session to explore creating an easy way for users to request access to NRW forestry to maintain their assets
- As the product and content design phase of the customer platform project approaches its conclusion (for now!), Toyah has been busy liaising with our translation unit to get all the Welsh content ready for the developers to insert
