Weeknotes 10/04/2026
Another relatively quiet week, with many colleagues enjoying some annual leave, hoovering up stray chocolate:
-
Sophie’s been busy publishing monthly reports for permitting and auditing content from subject matter experts before it can go on the website.
-
Lucinda, Heledd and Sophie began an analytics investigation to learn more about how our Welsh language content is accessed by Welsh speaking users. The insights will be used to support on Welsh Language reporting in coming months.
-
The publishing officers have been kept busy, with several consultations and public register updates to get online. There’s also been plenty of updates to intranet pages required, following the start of the new financial year and new legislation coming into force.
-
Jane and Sam had another forest management plan workshop with SMEs this week. The form question flow around ‘who is completing the form/who is the applicant?’ is proving tricky to get right. In common with other NRW services, this is partly because forms are often not completed by the person who is legally responsible for the permission (licence, permit, or plan), but by a representative instead. Jane, Sam and the team made good progress and are aiming to get the revised flow signed off this week.
-
Laura and Phil will meet subject matter experts next week for a final walkthrough of the change a species licence form. After this, they will work with the translation team and trio write the content. This week, they have also been mapping the current apply for a species licence service, ready to start on this piece of work next.
-
Heledd has been focusing on people management at the start of the year, with end-of-year reflections and 1:1s. These conversation have been used to give feedback and talk through new roles as part of DDAT transformation, with team insight helping shape and firm ideas.
-
Heledd has also been getting a sense of learning and development interests across the team, as we expect more opportunities coming up
-
Finally, Shaun finished changing all of the annual charge changes on the site and started looking at an update to our guidance on ‘low risk impoundments’.
We hope everyone enjoys the last weekend of the Easter holidays!
