Weeknotes 13/03/2026
It’s Friday 13th but don’t think that ominous date phases the digital team – it’s just another day in another busy week for us.
Here’s what we’ve been up to:
- On the forest management plan project, Sam and Jane shared their design for a practical, user-centred guidance page with subject matter experts (SMEs). The SMEs agreed that this approach addresses the key problem with the current application process - users find it overwhelming and are often unsure which forms they need to complete. We’re looking forward to testing this new approach with users next month.
- Mary and Jane published content about new parking arrangements at Coed y Brenin visitor centre, Bwlch Nant yr Arian visitor centre and Newborough. The new parking system and charges start on 30 March and have already generated significant interest from the media and the public.
- Laura and Lucinda have been using AI to help draft a blog on feedback forms.
- Lucinda has been working with developers on some styling changes for the flood message sender application.
- This week, Sophie and Sam have been amending the new fisheries content so that it is ready to be published on the website in coming weeks. Working alongside subject matter experts, content designers and the translation team, this important piece of guidance is being built into the website in line with user research and best practice.
- Toyah’s work with the customer platform design team continues, and they’re on track to have a huge amount of new web content ready for the looming project deadline.
- The recent round of user research sessions closed and so the team have been looking at the feedback. One of the project assumptions has pretty much been disproved, showing once again how vital user research is when building a new system.
- For a bit of light relief/brief change from thinking about marine licensing, Toyah has also been checking out the Microsoft Copilot Academy, and dabbling with what AI can do to support her work. So far she’s equal parts fascinated and impressed!
